HCI Lab UdeC
Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory
Advancing the field of Human-Computer Interaction through innovative research, practical applications, and educational initiatives that improve how people interact with technology in their daily lives.
About HCI Lab
The Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at Universidad de Concepción focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of interactive systems that enhance human-computer interaction experiences. Our interdisciplinary team works at the intersection of technology, psychology, and design to create more intuitive and accessible digital solutions.
Our Mission
To advance the field of Human-Computer Interaction through innovative research, practical applications, and educational initiatives that improve how people interact with technology in their daily lives.

Our Projects
We are currently working on innovative projects that build solutions to improve our community through cutting-edge research and practical applications.
SKILLUP
This research team operates at the intersection of emerging technologies, adavanced data analytics, and holistic understanding of human behavior within organizational contexts, aiming to evaluate and support both inidividual and organizational behaviors across diverse work environments and industries. We use non-invasive devices - such as facial pattern recognition, smartwatches - to enhance the robustness of data acquisition for the decisition making processes. These signals ares integrated with psycho-occupational measures - such as motivation, wellbeing, performance - developing computational models to provide adapted interventions, strategies, training and useful feedback.
POCOPI
This is a project exploring the qualitative impact of the automation of psychological tests and tasks. The objectives of this project are: 1) automation of input, exploring the impact of new qualitative inputs when giving online psychological tests; 2) automation of intervention, exploring the impact of interactive interventions as opposed to traditional static ones; 3) automation of output, exploring to which extent the analysis of the data produced can be automated.
GOALS
This is a project that seeks to analyze the long-term adherence to routines and the human behavior factors that favor it through physical exercise.
Pytholearning
The objective of this project is to evaluate the impact of the drought on strategic crops using artificial intelligence and genomics approaches.
Fishomics
Computational exploration of the immune response in the skin of Atlantic salmon through transcriptomic strategies, infestation by the ectoparasite Caligus rogercresseyi and environmental water parameters using machine learning and deep learning algorithms
